Little Gem

We recently moved to UWS from LES and have had trouble finding restaurants that are truly special and delicious. This modest tiny sandwich shop serves up fresh and delicious sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads. They threw in some moist fresh chocolate chip cookies with our take out order which took only a few minutes to prepare. The owners were friendly and generous and brought us tea samples. Seemed more like a place you would find in Bar Harbor, Maine than West Harlem, and that made it all the more special. We took our food up to St. John’s and had a picnic on the steps. The price was great also! We will go back often.

Ridiculously delish!

I stopped here on a whim the other day with 2 kids to grab a salad to go. After standing there a couple minutes I decided to stay since the salad I was getting was a special and had warm pork loin on it, thought it would be best to eat there. It’s small, but the guys had no problem with me staying with a sleeping baby in a stroller and a 3 year old who wasn’t eating (except for the clementine I had with me, she’s really picky). So about the salad, seriously, the best salad I ever had, ever! It had pork which was seasoned perfectly, warm dates and olives on top of greens, veggies and a few raspberries, and it was devine! I will definitely be back. Oh yeah, they “watched” my baby for me while I brought my 3 year old to the bathroom in the back. Super nice staff!

Amazing Sandwiches

I’m actually not that into sandwiches but my wife and I tried this nearby restaurant on a suggestion. We ordered the turkey BLT and the Hattfield (roast beef, havarti, onion). Both were amazing! The sandwiches were hot, fresh, delicious and came on this very fresh olive loaf bread. Served with fresh veggies in the salad and it was a very nice, quick meal for an incredibly reasonable price.

The space is small but very warm. It is a two person operation and the waitress is so friendly and welcoming. While we were there, a few other people came in and seemed to know the staff very well. This is an incredible place that has been overlooked in the neighborhood. Please try and you will not regret it!

Obsession with Healthy Sandwiches

“If you didn’t know to look for it, you’d miss this teeny-tiny little shop sandwiched on a block of 99-cent stores and local taco places. I never knew a simple sandwich could be so good–fresh, hot, great ingredients, interesting blend of tastes, served with a smile. If you told me that “turkey, avocado, bacon, and cheddar” could taste so good, I’d never believe you, but for some reason it did; anywhere else, it’s nothing special. The only drawback is that it has limited hours: closed on Sundays, closes at 7 pm other nights. It may be best since I’d probably eat there way too often…”

Neighborhood Gem

I love the delicious, fresh food at this restaurant so much that I almost want to keep it the best-kept secret in the neighborhood. If you’re not satisfied with deli sandwiches or if you need a quick meal for dinner, this place has it all. Great variety of salads and daily soup. Great-tasting, spa-inspired wraps and sandwiches, and healthy pasta dishes. Gourmet-quality food that tastes homemade . Friendly neighborhoodly people. If you haven’t found it yet, definitely try it.

Everything is done with a flair

” You’ll thank me for turning you on to this gem of a place, trust me. Classic hole-in-the-wall run by people that know and really care about good food. The food is always tasty and fresh and features interesting and delicious flavor combinations. For instance…pork loin over mixed greens with a mango-chutney was outstanding. One of my old standbys here is the Turkey Spa Burger which features a perfectly cooked, moist and juicy turkey burger over mixed greens with avocado and other veggies. Delicious.

Everything is done with flair and that little extra something that separates these guys from the pack.”
